Corrin Wick - Night Watchman of the City Archives
Meet Corrin Wick, the gruff night watchman who guards Brightcrown's City Archives after the scholars go home -- the man who knows every creak in the stacks, and one secret passage he's never dared report.
"Books don't lie awake worrying who's coming for them. That's my job."
Long after the last lecture bell fades and the students stumble home half-drunk on wine and half on new ideas, a single shuttered lantern still moves through the City Archives. It pauses at the end of each aisle, listens, and moves on. The scholars who work late enough to see it come to know the sound of that particular tread — slow, uneven, unhurried — long before they ever learn the name of the man who owns it.

Appearance: Corrin is a broad-shouldered man in his early sixties, gone gray but not soft, with a pronounced limp in his left leg that only slows him down when he lets it. He wears a heavy oilcloth coat against the Archives' perpetual chill, a battered watchman's cudgel at his belt, and carries a shuttered dark-lantern that he can snap open in an instant. A dented City Guard badge — decades out of service — rides in his coat's inner pocket, more habit than credential. His eyes are sharper than his age suggests, and he has an unnerving habit of noticing things before anyone tells him to look.
