Lorian — Travelling Merchant of the Verdant Weald
Greenbranch's own trade-route merchant, Lorian plies the risky roads of the Verdant Weald with a mule, a scale, and a ledger that hides more generosity than his haggling lets on.
Introduction
The road between Greenbranch and the wider Verdant Weald is rarely empty for long, and more often than not, the first sign of company is a creaking wheel and a cheerfully complaining voice before the cart itself ever comes into view. Lorian has worked this stretch of road for years, tarp-covered wares rattling behind a patient old mule, always ready to make camp just off the path and do brisk business with whoever happens by — travelers, farmers, and the occasional armed party fresh off dealing with whatever's been making the woods more dangerous than usual lately.

"Everything costs a little more out here — the road, the gnolls, my nerves. Consider it a service fee for showing up at all."
Appearance: Lorian is a wiry, sun-weathered man in his forties, permanently squinting like he's mid-calculation, which he usually is. He wears a patched, many-layered travel coat over practical wool, with a leather apron underneath for handling goods, and fingerless gloves stained from years of counting coin in bad weather. A dog-eared ledger, half price list and half diary, rides in his coat's largest pocket, and a small brass scale swings from his belt alongside a sling he's more likely to use on a hungry fox than a person. His cart mule, unglamorously named Turnip, is never far behind him.
