Rhosyn Steepwater - Botanical Dyer of Andisol
Andisol's fireglass and firecloth get the attention, but it is Rhosyn Steepwater's dye yard that gives them their colour - a half-elf who coaxes blood-orange out of ash-fed blooms, and who has spent years chasing one red she made once and has never matched since.
Introduction
Andisol smells of rain and green growth right up until you turn down the track behind the emberfruit rows, and then it smells of something else entirely — wet plant matter, wood ash, and the sour-sweet reek of a vat that has been working since before dawn. Six sunken vats sit steaming in a walled yard, lines of wet cloth hang overhead in colours the rest of Emberfall never sees outside of a flower, and a half-elf woman with dye to her elbows is arguing quietly with a bucket. Everyone else in this valley will tell you what fire takes away. Rhosyn Steepwater is the one who will show you what it hands back.

"Everybody in this valley will tell you what the fire takes. Step round the back and I'll show you the nine colours it gives."
Appearance: Rhosyn is lean and rope-armed, built by decades of hauling sodden cloth out of vats taller than her waist. Her sleeves are permanently rolled past the elbow, and there is no point in her rolling them down: her forearms are banded in overlapping stains that never fully lift — rust and ochre at the wrists, a stubborn dusk-purple across the knuckles, a green line where a glove failed years ago. Her dark hair is pinned back with a strip of test cloth, and she wears a scorched work smock over practical linens, blotched in a hundred places where a colour went wrong. At her hip hangs a thick leather thong strung with hundreds of small swatches, fanned like a deck of cards. Her ears and the elven cast of her cheekbones read clearly enough, but the calluses and the smell of lye read louder.
