Introduction

The road into Greenbranch always arrives the same way: past hedgerows heavy with wildflowers, past the first curl of woodsmoke from the Jolly Angler's chimney, and into the shade of the village's great oak — where, more often than not, an unhurried half-elf woman is already waiting with a question for you before you've thought to ask one of her. Sariah Linden has kept Greenbranch's affairs in order for longer than most travelers passing through have been alive, and if you want anything done in this corner of the Verdant Weald — a dispute settled, a permit signed, a word carried all the way to Brightcrown's own council chambers — hers is the door you knock on.

Appearance: Sariah is a half-elf well past her first century, though the years show gently — silver threading through hair the color of autumn oak leaves, and laugh lines carved deeper than any frown could manage. She dresses plainly but well: a long wool coat in the green-brown of Weald bark, a carved oak-leaf brooch pinned at her collar (a gift from Greenbranch's woodcarvers), and sturdy boots built for walking the village rather than fighting in it. She carries a polished walking stick cut from one of Greenbranch's own oaks — more habit than necessity — and always seems to smell faintly of chamomile and woodsmoke, from tea taken at all hours of council business.
