Past the lecture halls and the ink-scented libraries, tucked behind a low hedge wall most students never think to look past, Brightcrown University's courtyard garden blooms in defiance of the season outside its walls. Ask any professor who tends it, and they'll tell you it's simply well cared for. Ask the gardener herself, and she'll just smile and hand you a sprig of something that smells faintly of somewhere very far from Brightcrown.

Appearance: Tamsin is a small, sun-browned halfling well past sixty, with wild silver curls escaping a wide straw hat and dirt permanently worked into the creases of her hands. She wears a patched gardener's smock lined with dozens of tiny seed-pouches, and never goes anywhere without her trowel and a woven basket of clippings slung over one arm. Her eyes are a startling, clear green, and she has a habit of studying people the same unhurried way she studies a struggling seedling — like she's already worked out what they need, and is deciding whether to say so.
