Torrin Gravelwade - Turtle-Follower of the Emberfall Coast
Torrin Gravelwade is a firbolg who follows Emberfall's rare glass-shell turtles between two coastlines every nesting season, guarding their nests without ever claiming them as his own.
Introduction
Twice a year, somewhere along the black sand of Kindlestrand or the red-gold curve of Emberstrand Cove, the tideline fills with tracks too heavy for a crab and too slow for a man in a hurry. Follow them far enough and you'll find Torrin Gravelwade, sitting very still a respectful distance from a nest, waiting for something that doesn't need him to hatch. He never got there first. He's just the one who kept coming back.

Appearance: Torrin stands well over seven feet, broad through the shoulders in the unhurried way of someone who has never once needed to look dangerous to be taken seriously. His skin is a weathered slate-blue, salt-cracked at the knuckles and the soles of his enormous bare feet, which he refuses to cover even on the hottest stretch of black sand. His hair and short beard have gone the color of dried kelp, bleached and coarsened by sun and sea spray, and he keeps them roughly hacked short so the wind can't do it for him. Around his neck hangs a long, uneven cord strung with small drilled fragments of red-tinted glass-shell, each one worn smooth from handling. He carries a tall staff of grey driftwood, taller than he needs it to be, more often planted upright beside him like a marker than used to walk. His eyes are a patient, sea-glass green, and he has a habit of going completely motionless for long stretches, which has startled more than one traveler who mistook him for a boulder.
