Wrenna Vellum - Bookbinder & Manuscript Restorer of the Scholars' Ward
Wrenna Vellum is the Scholars' Ward's meticulous rock gnome bookbinder -- the one every professor and student turns to when a text starts to fall apart, and who quietly keeps a drawer of pages no one else dared reassemble.
"A book is only truly dead when no one bothers to mend its spine."
The lamps along the Scholars' Ward burn late most nights, but none later than the narrow, ink-scented window above Threadspine Bindery. Students hurry past its crooked sign a hundred times without a glance — until the day their thesis notes come apart at the spine, or a professor hands them a crumbling family journal and says, simply, "Take it to Wrenna." Only then do they learn what the University already knows: some knowledge only survives because someone was patient enough to mend it.

Appearance: Wrenna stands barely three feet tall but carries herself like she owns every shelf in the Scholars' Ward — which, in a sense, she keeps alive. Silver hair pulled back in a severe braid, wire spectacles perpetually sliding down her nose, and hands permanently stained with iron-gall ink and beeswax. She wears a heavy leather apron over patched scholar's robes, its pockets bristling with bone folders, waxed thread, and brass corner tools. A magnifying loupe hangs from a cord at her neck, and she is never without a pair of white cotton gloves tucked into her belt — for the books, never for herself.
