Dornic Peatmoulder – Dwarf Peat Foreman / Industrial Marshal
“You don’t rush peat. You cut it wrong, the bog remembers.”
Name: Dornic Peatmoulder
Race: Dwarf
Role/Class: Peat Foreman / Industrial Marshal (Fighter – Battlemaster)
Appearance: Dornic Peatmoulder is broad-shouldered and compact, his powerful frame built by decades of hauling sodden peat blocks from the mire. His beard is thick and iron-gray, braided short and bound with tarred twine to keep it from soaking through. His skin bears a permanent peat-stain along his forearms and calves, dark as if the bog itself has marked him as its own.
He wears heavy leather reinforced with riveted iron plates along the chest and shoulders, dulled by rust and mud. Thick rubberized boots rise to his knees, scarred from sinkholes and submerged roots. A peat-hook—half tool, half weapon—rests across his back, while a wide belt carries chalk, measuring cords, and stamped work-tokens. His voice is low and steady, carrying authority without volume.

Backstory
Dornic came to the Brackish Brinelands as a young dwarf seeking work when upland quarries collapsed and trade faltered. Where other dwarves saw worthless mire, Dornic saw fuel, structure, and stability. He learned peat-cutting from humans and halflings, adapting dwarven discipline to marsh-born methods.
Over time, Dornic organized peat crews, standardized safe-cut patterns, and enforced strict work rules—saving countless lives from bog collapse and gas-pocket explosions. His crews now supply fuel bricks to multiple settlements, making him a quiet but vital economic pillar.
Dornic believes the marsh is a resource that demands respect, not reverence. He tolerates mystics and tide-priests but distrusts anyone who claims the bog has intent. To Dornic, danger comes from negligence, not curses.
