Kk’trassh is no ordinary intellect devourer—it is a rogue. Severed from its mind flayer masters, it seeks a purpose of its own. Kk’trassh manipulates entire communities through stolen bodies, cultivating a network of "hosts" who speak with one mind—its own.

Role in Its Society:
Kk’trassh is a heretic among intellect devourers. Though spawned by the illithids, it now considers them obsolete—“ancient tyrants chained to stale purpose.” Operating independently, it sows chaos within surface societies, posing as a traveling scholar, advisor, or noble—whatever its current host allows. It dreams not of serving, but of ruling.
Appearance Description:
In its true form, Kk’trassh is a slick, sinewy brain-mass with dark violet ridges and twitching, clawed legs that move like insect limbs. Tiny sigils pulse faintly beneath its crusted membrane—marks left from failed attempts by illithids to rebind it. When in a host body, subtle tells remain: the body may twitch rhythmically, blink out of sync, or exhibit uncanny calm during chaos.
Backstory:
Kk’trassh was born from the brain of a drow inquisitor who resisted the ritual transformation. The result: a devourer with willpower beyond expectation. During an incursion into the surface world, Kk’trassh took control of a human sage and never returned. It has since worn dozens of skins, orchestrating the fall of a coastal city, manipulating religious cults, and now infiltrating a mage's guild in Highcrest under the guise of a benevolent loremaster known as “Professor Narlan Evenshade.”
