Ssathra Coil-Eye – Swamp Ambusher
“When the water stills, it is already too late.”
Name: Ssathra Coil-Eye
Race: Lizardfolk
Role/Class: Swamp Ambusher
Appearance: Ssathra Coil-Eye is long-limbed and lean, her scaled hide patterned in tight, spiraling bands of dark olive and black that resemble coiled reeds when she lies motionless. One eye is clouded and milky—ruined long ago—while the other is a sharp, burning gold that never blinks. Thin ritual scars ring her throat and tail, marking kills survived rather than victories claimed.
She wears no conventional armor. Instead, her body is layered with strapped bone plates, hardened bark, and dried eel hide, arranged to break her silhouette in water and brush. A barbed spear rests across her back, its shaft wrapped in sinew and swamp vine. Several throwing hooks and weighted cords hang at her hips, silent even when submerged.
When Ssathra moves, she does so slowly—until she doesn’t.

Backstory
Ssathra was once part of a border-watch clutch tasked with guarding lizardfolk nesting grounds from encroaching settlements. When negotiations failed and violence followed, her clutch was wiped out—burned out by mercenaries and blamed for escalating raids they did not initiate.
Ssathra survived by staying still.
She learned that patience, not strength, wins wars in the Brackish Brinelands. Over years, she refined ambush techniques that made enemies disappear without a trace. Bodies were pulled under. Camps were dismantled silently. Fear spread faster than blood.
Now Ssathra does not defend territory—she purges it. She sells her services selectively, always ensuring that the marsh grows quieter afterward. To her, balance is no longer possible. Only correction.
