Sunken Barrow Breach
Sunken Barrow Breach is a burial chamber torn open by time and water—an ancient stone vault exposed by erosion, its entryway half-collapsed and its interior slick with runoff and algae-dark stains.
Broken stairs descend into a flooded basin where pale light filters through the surface in wavering bands, illuminating submerged stones and the faint shapes of debris below. Cracked flagstones and uneven steps create a treacherous descent, while the chamber’s fractured walls leave jagged gaps and ruined supports that feel one hard impact away from giving in.
Despite the damage, the place still holds its breath. Worn ward symbols cling to the stonework—carvings around the arch, etched marks along the landing, and sealed motifs on a partially buried sarcophagus—suggesting protections that were never meant to be disturbed. Lantern niches and scattered offerings imply recent visitors, not all of them respectful. In combat, Sunken Barrow Breach becomes a layered arena: high ledges and stair landings for ranged pressure, flooded lower ground that punishes movement, and broken sightlines that let threats appear from behind stone ribs and collapsed seams.
Intended Use:
This map is ideal for a dungeon-like encounter that blends exploration tension with sudden violence. The layered steps and terraces naturally split the fight into vertical zones—combatants on higher landings can control approaches, while anyone forced into the flooded basin becomes slower, louder, and more vulnerable. It’s perfect for tomb guardians, rival delvers, cultists attempting to break a seal, or undead stirred by disruption. The environment invites tactical choices: hold the stairs, push enemies into water, or risk flanking through cracked side gaps.
