Appearance: Tobin is short even by halfling standards, with a round nose and a permanent layer of soot on his knuckles. His curly brown hair peeks from under a leather cap adorned with mismatched buttons. He wears a vest full of small pockets, half of which contain shoelaces, and sports a patchwork apron stiff from years of glue, dye, and wax. His hands are quick and sure, and his eyes twinkle when he smiles—which is often.

Backstory

Tobin grew up on the dusty edge of Brightcrown, a town known for mercantile excellence and its prized guild craftsmen. Trained by his aunt, a retired adventure-cobbler with one wooden foot, Tobin quickly became known for shoes that never squeak, boots that survive river crossings, and slippers that could sneak past a sleeping dragon. Though cheerful and modest, he has a sharp memory for footprints—literal and otherwise. He runs Underbough Soles, a corner-shop cobblery tucked between a baker and a candlemaker, where he crafts shoes for children, travelers, nobles... and occasionally someone with something to hide.
