Ul'Xorith - The Aboleth
In the brackish stillness beneath the flooded ruin of Caer-Thalax, a being lingers whose memory stretches to the world’s first breaths. Ul’Xorith the Remnant Deep is a glistening, coiling aboleth whose voice pulses directly into the mind, laden with truths too old for sanity.
Role in Its Society:
Ul’Xorith is a Remembrancer, a title among aboleths given to those whose psionic memories serve to preserve ancient cultural strata of the empire lost to the gods. Other aboleths shun Ul’Xorith for obsessing over individual lives—personal recollections instead of strategic totality. To surface dwellers, it is a lurking god, half-forgotten and feared.
Appearance Description:
Roughly twelve feet in length, Ul’Xorith’s mucous-slick hide gleams with a translucent aquamarine shimmer. Its three eyes rarely blink, each clouded with a different memory it chooses to relive. Its tendrils pulse with slow psychic resonance, trailing arcane patterns like ink in water.

Backstory:
Ul’Xorith once maintained the archives of a minor aboleth conclave, far from the empire’s power centers. When the gods came, Ul’Xorith’s collective fled—but Ul’Xorith stayed, choosing to observe the cataclysm rather than flee from it. Trapped and wounded in the collapse of a temple-city now buried beneath the waves, it entered torpor. It has only recently awakened, confused by the fractured state of surface civilization—and eager to "reclaim" the children of a world it once oversaw.
