Velgarith - The Green Slaad
They say there's a talking tree that moves through the bogs at night. It doesn't walk — it waits. If you hear it whisper your name... it's already too late.
Role in Its Society:
Green slaadi are the rarest of their kind, elevated by the energies of the Spawning Stone and imbued with dangerous magical prowess. Velgarith is even stranger — one of the few green slaadi to not only gain spellcasting power, but also to retain stability. Among slaadi, he is known as the “Seer-Bloom,” a paradoxical mind that sows entropy with precise intent.
To chaotic cults and fringe wizards, Velgarith is a druidic prophet, thought to possess ancient truths from beyond the Prime Material. He is worshiped in secret by those who seek mutation, and feared by others who know his whispers cause minds to unravel.
Appearance Description:
Velgarith is vine-wrapped and moss-covered, his sinewy, amphibian frame partially overtaken by strange fungal growths that shimmer with iridescent hues. His skin shifts in patterns like leaves in wind, and his claws appear gnarled like bark. His face is oddly serene, split by a permanent grin and eyes of glowing violet. Spores drift lazily in the air around him, trailing wherever he goes.

Backstory:
Velgarith was transformed during a convergence between the Far Realm and the Feywild deep in Veridya’s Nightshade Thicket. Absorbing both chaotic and natural energies, he took root in a literal sense — gaining powers of decay, regrowth, and mind-manipulation.
Rather than tearing through villages like others of his kind, Velgarith plants ideas. He has seeded madness across moorlands and forests alike, sometimes appearing to fey courts or wayward druids as a “whispering savior.” What they don’t realize is that every whispered blessing leaves behind a rooted echo — a piece of him, waiting to bloom.
