Whitecap Lantern Run

Whitecap Lantern Run

Whitecap Lantern Run is a narrow cliffside route where the coast is less a landscape and more a ledge—stone underfoot, fog below, and wind always at your shoulder.

Rich

The trail twists between rough platforms cut into the rock, stitched together with rope rails and iron pitons that look sturdy until you hear them groan in a gust. Lantern posts mark the path at intervals, their flames throwing warm light against cold stone and making the mist beyond feel even deeper, even emptier.

The centerpiece is a short rope-bridge span over a fog-filled drop, a simple crossing that becomes a full encounter by itself the moment someone draws steel. Wet stone slicks the trail into difficult footing, and the exposed edges beg for shoves, slips, and desperate grabs at rope. A small windbreak alcove provides the only sense of shelter—an emergency cache and rest point where a party can regroup, hide, or brace for pursuit—while a switchback stair climbs toward a higher platform where a distant beacon glows faintly through the haze, promising either safety… or the next fight.

Intended Use:

This map is built for high-tension traversal encounters—ambushes, chases, and duels where footing matters as much as tactics. The narrow lanes and rope rail boundaries keep combat compressed and readable, making every position choice feel consequential. The bridge span creates an immediate choke point objective: hold it, cross it, cut it, or use it as bait. With wet stone as difficult terrain, movement becomes deliberate, and sudden gusts can turn routine turns into dramatic saves near the edge.
