Role in Its Society:
Sanctified Sentinel of the Slimebound Cult. While most gelatinous cubes are mindless digesters of refuse, Glrrxth has been sanctified by the Cult of Juiblex, serving as a semi-sentient guardian and oracle beneath a blighted temple in the Blightgrove. Worshippers believe it is a divine vessel of Juiblex's will.
Appearance Description:
Glrrxth appears as a typical gelatinous cube, but those who gaze into its translucent mass may see more than undigested bones and rusting weapons. Runes float within its core, glowing faintly with abyssal energy. A warped humanoid skull with a crown of bone rests near its center, suspended eternally in slow rotation. Occasional tendrils of darker ooze twitch within, hinting at something watching from beyond.
Backstory:
Glrrxth was not born, but summoned. During a failed summoning ritual meant to call forth a lesser demon, a rift to Juiblex’s realm birthed this strange cube. It devoured half the cult and survived. The remaining followers interpreted this as divine selection. Unlike its kin, Glrrxth began reacting to stimuli, oozing in patterns interpreted as messages. Some say it dreams. Others believe Juiblex whispers through it. Either way, it now sits, semi-aware, in a sacred pit, consulted by slime-priests and feared by all intruders.
