Scrivnibrax - The Homunculus
A flicker of leathery wings. The scent of brimstone ink. Then: a scroll — ancient, enchanted, and binding — lands at your feet. It bears your name. And behind it floats a grinning thing with too many teeth and a very official-looking seal.
Role in Its Society:
Scrivnibrax is no ordinary homunculus. He is a clerk, scribe, and petty contracts enforcer within a layered demiplane tied to the infernal archives of Veridya’s hidden hell-cults. Created to serve an infernal jurist long since devoured by a barbed devil tribunal, Scrivnibrax refused termination, citing clause 7.8.9.6 of his familiar agreement — the "Self-Perpetuation of Clerical Purpose."
Now masterless, he wanders the mortal world with a portable desk of contracts, issuing liens, collecting overdue soul-chits, and binding the unwary in bureaucratic servitude. He doesn’t seek combat — but he is a walking legal disaster, especially for spellcasters, warlocks, or anyone who’s ever made a deal.
Appearance Description:
Scrivnibrax is tiny — about eighteen inches tall — with leathery gray skin, oversized pointed ears, and burning amber eyes. He has membranous bat wings, elongated fingers, and constant ink-stains on his claws. A golden infernal seal dangles from a red twine around his neck, which he often uses to magically notarize documents midair.
He always carries scrolls, parchment, and glowing contracts, and occasionally a ridiculously oversized pen. His voice is high-pitched but professional, clipped like a bureaucrat with a ticking stopwatch.

Backstory:
Created as a bound familiar for Magistrate-Binder Ulro Vask of the Thrice-Broken Sigil, Scrivnibrax originally served to document summoning protocols and enforce spell compliance. After Ulro’s demise in a ritual backfire, Scrivnibrax clung to magical existence by enforcing loopholes in his own summoning contract — ultimately outlawing his own dissolution.
Over time, he refined his purpose: not as a mere familiar, but as an independent extraplanar agent, offering bureaucratic “services” to mortals, devils, demons, and even fae. He now operates from roaming contract circles, sometimes found midair in volcanic caverns, abandoned wizard towers, or wandering the planes, following the scent of unfiled magical obligations.
