Vlekkth - The Ochre Jelly
It clings to walls, ceilings, and the scent of ancient death. Vlekkth is not a creature you see—it’s the thing that sees you melt from above.
Role in Its Society:
Vlekkth is worshipped—or more accurately, appeased—by a degenerate underground cult in the lower caverns of Duskhaven, who believe it to be a living fragment of Juiblex’s will. It dwells among them as a mindless idol, “blessing” their refuse and devouring sacrifices. In truth, Vlekkth has gained a low, primal cunning and patrols the tunnels like a lurking nightmare.
Appearance Description:
Vlekkth is a slowly shifting ooze, amber-yellow in color, its surface quivering with the viscosity of sap or spoiled honey. Its form is never fixed—sometimes spreading like a puddle, other times hanging from the ceiling in long dripping strands. Bone shards, rusted keys, scraps of flesh, and a partially dissolved humanoid skull float just beneath its surface, swirling slowly like rot caught in syrup. When it grows agitated, glowing green pustules bubble up from within, releasing acidic mist.

Backstory:
Once a simple ooze dumped into a ruined temple’s depths, Vlekkth survived years of starvation by crawling between cracks and scavenging corpses no one dared recover. Exposure to ritual blood magic and discarded abyssal relics slowly changed it. It learned to wait. To strike only when prey was alone. Eventually, it became more than a pest—it became feared. Cultists of Juiblex stumbled upon it and mistook it for a sign. Now they bring it offerings and let it roam the lightless lower halls, where even they dare not linger long.
