Hupperdook

Hupperdook

The gnomish city of Hupperdook is the industrial heart of the Dwendalian Empire. It boasts of a vibrant and hardworking community, comprising mining, metalwork, clockwork development, siege weaponry, and enchantment.

Rich

The sprawling, multi-leveled city is nestled along the eastern base of the Silberquel Ridge. The city is marked by ever-rising columns of dark smoke and steam, emanating from its many factories and workshops. The community is believed to have existed for many centuries, predating the Dwendalian Empire. However, it was absorbed into the empire through diplomatic agreements over two hundred years ago and has since become the heart of industry for the entire empire.

The gnomes of Hupperdook have a unique culture that values both hard work and hard play. They engage in family trades such as coal mining, clockwork development, practical enchantment, and the brewing of zesty libations. Despite their industrial focus, the city has an upbeat and optimistic atmosphere that pervades the daily lives of the residents.

The Ironlot Streets of Lower Hupperdook

Hupperdook is divided into four distinct areas across two levels built against the mountain base. The first level is Lower Hupperdook, which sits at ground level and is divided into two sections. The first is Ironlot, a soot-stained and dusty neighborhood where mining, metalwork, and small-scale production take place. The area is characterized by a dozen ash-piping smokestacks that rise above the residential neighborhoods. The Assembly Yard is the second section, where the larger war machines and siege engines are constructed. The most volatile projects are tested within the pock-marked turf of the Craterfield, which lies adjacent to the Assembly Yard.

The second level is Upper Hupperdook, a more charming and residential region that sits about two hundred feet above the ground atop a platform of leveled rock. This level of the city has two regions: Silver Falls Grove and the Idleworks Shelf. Silver Falls Grove is a beautiful area where the massive Silver Falls descend from atop the mountainside and spill into a small lake surrounded by residential living towers. This serene environment offers a stark contrast to the bustling factories and workshops of Lower Hupperdook. The Idleworks Shelf, on the other hand, is a recreational region of sprawling commerce, colorful markets, and social gatherings. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the company of others after a hard day's work.

The gnomes of Hupperdook are proud of their city and their contributions to the empire. They work hard to maintain their reputation as the heart of industry, and their dedication to innovation and technological advancement is well known throughout the land. Visitors to Hupperdook will be amazed by the level of craftsmanship and creativity on display in every corner of the city. Whether you are a scholar, an adventurer, or a curious traveler, a visit to Hupperdook is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
